affection
I had a very tight family and lived in the burbs for about a quarter of a year.
so after months of living in the burbs
surrounded by niece and dog
I’m nearly assaulted in the city
during one of the few attempts to go out and party
after weeks of spending time alone and secluded
having detached from most of my friends
and being utterly useless from illness and ennui
and back in DC, buried in work and day job…
I need some lovin!
Should I do one of the following:
1) get a dog
2) get a cat
3) get a roommate
4) get a life
5) go back to the gym and forget affection and love
6) some of the above???
If you know me, what should I do? If you don’t know, what would YOU do?

first, maybe the reason that things happened that way is you were looking in the wrong place for happiness. One basic thing also is why would everything be dependent on something that is outside of you, where all these things are not within your control, they all depend on circumstances. If things turnout the way you don’t expect it, again you will be in the same spot. Look for love where it does’nt falter or not controlled by conditions, something that is always constant, you can take wherever you are, in whatever situation. True love can only be found when there is selflessness, when you are filling in someone elses’ need rather than just being focused on yourself and once satisfaction. Man in his quest to belong and to be secured has delighted himself in vanity, on outside appearances, what pleases the senses. Delight yourself in a higher purpose, that is above all that surrounds you, looking beyond and seeing the bigger picture.
Only by submitting yourself in a higher purpose would you find true joy and will be abounding in love.

Why don’t you try volunteering at an animal shelter in your area? Do something for someone else. I guarantee that you will feel better. It is all about connectedness. Connect to other living beings through self less service and to God. Read books by wayne Dyer. Seriously, try the doggie shelter volunteering, you will feel soo happy and connected. Then, later on you can think of maybe adopting a dog. Of course from a shelter.

If I were in your shoes, I would go to the gym and work on improving my physique, and to boost my energy and my endurance. I personally believe that regular exercise produces a healthy body that uplifts the heart, mind, and soul - all of which promotes a certain level of confidence and self-worth. All of us have a purpose in this world, no matter how much pounding you get. I am a spiritual person and have gone through rock-bottom, but all those years, when friends have come and gone, I have always believed that only God will forever be there, without judging me, and my strong faith in Him will be rewarded in His perfect time. Good luck and I pray that whatever you decide to do with your life will be beneficial to you and to others as well.

1]Get a dog.
It fills the void and tons of fun times along with it.
2]Get a cat.
It fills the void and tons of fun times along with it…too.
3]Get a roommate.
Earns an extra mouth and cash.
Not too shabby…better for you if it was a guy though.
4]Get a life.
You already have one,so stop wasting it.
5]Go back to the gym and forget affection and love.
Works for me.
But not for you cause you’re still human.
6}Some of the above??
Yep.
Get the dog too.

Debbie,
Do what ever you want and is in your heart. You know what is right for you.
It doesn’t hurt to go to the gym and work out. You never know you might find love and effection there.
