Tails of a 17th Street Geisha

Then today, all this morning I called up the DC and Montgomery County
School Districts to figure out what’s necessary for residency for
Maryland and how I can get Angela in the best DC school. WELL, DC isn’t
going to work out because I can’t get my pay stub to reflect a new
address until Sep 30 (spoke to the HR @ my work yesterday) PLUS I would
need to get my name on a utility bill. I COULD potentially talk to the
principal of the school I’m interested in outside of my DC "ward" to
see if she’ll accept these proofs of residency after the fact, but then
she would also have the discretion of rejecting Angela because of the
number of students currently enrolled. I don’t want to take any chances
on Angela’s edu-ma-cation.

So thanks to the other of the two aforementioned "guys," CHRIS, I spent
the rest of the afternoon driving up and down major arteries and small
streets in Silver Spring near the middle school I want Angela to attend
and near my work.

Thank GOD for Chris who drove me up very patiently and waited around in
my office while my coworkers encircled me peppering me with questions
about this new addition to my house and the fact that I’m moving to
Silver Spring! CRAZINESS. Oh, and Chris drove around, asked good
questions about the place and what I’m looking for, AND gave his
feedback in addition to REALLY HELPING ME THE F OUT. (not spelling out
"fuck" is my attempt of toning down my language before Angela comes to
town and I have to cut it out for good!)

So, I’m moving to Silver Spring! I made an appointment with Montgomery
County the day after Angela comes back to submit the appropriate
paperwork to certify my guardianship of her and my residency in Silver
Spring… PHEWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
