sleepy sleep
I’ve been sick for the last week or so. My cough is getting worse at night and I think I’m losing energy. Less body ache and more tired feelings are taking over. I need to sleep more and I just get restless, I can’t lay still. I can’t go to sleep early @ night, even when I don’t party, but I just can’t lay down early enough. I keep waking up at 6 or 7 when I should be sleeping in. How do I go to sleep @ night? Even Nyquil isn’t working. Sheesh.
I might have some needless stress right now with this "decision" I have to make (which I haven’t made in spite of an ultimatum) so perhaps I’ll get back to better sleeping once I deal with this stressful situation.
Any remedies on sleeping?

First of all, I have to say it: there were some ridiculous comments to your last post: “i remember my mother when i was a baby because of your picture…” Wow! Paging Dr. Freud!!
On to this post… you could also try a little meditation before bed. It may sound cheesy, but it’s really all about the breathing, slowing yourself down a little bit. I also think Alex’s advice is right on: see a doctor. You don’t want to be overly medicated, but it can’t hurt to at least hear a doc’s opinion.
And on the decision… I need a little more info, but based on your posts and based on what I know about you, I worry that your decision (which has to be more complicated than even the three sides you presented) is influenced by your own fears about relationships. Are you looking to “nip this in the bud” because, ultimately, deep down, you think you can’t keep a straight man happy? I’m not trying to put words in your mouth; I’m just trying to figure out if you are preventing yourself from taking a risk out of a fear of failure.

You might also want to try a calcium supplement.
Most of us could use more calcium.
It may replace sdome of that sodium in our diets, and it might momentarily lower your blood pressure to help you feel more like resting. A couple of TUMs does it for me.
Winding down is also useful.
Light in your eye will destroy the melatonin in there, which is nature’s sleepy-time hormone. Dimming the lights can help you get into the mood for rest.
Sometimes a sugar rush is accompanied by a sugar crash, which is why sometimes sweets an hour or so before retiring can help you sleep later.
The theobromine in chocolate, however, can affect you like caffeine so I wouldn’t advise chocs for this reason.
Good luck, and pleasant dreams

Thanks. I think it might have to do with having too much energy from not working out. I’ve been sick for a while now, but I feel like I’m passed a major hump.

You’re welcome. I think they say it takes two hours to recover each one hour of sleep lost.
I am not sure about this working out thing, are you worried about missing some endorphins or your metabolism?
Not eating enough or right can mess up your electrolyte balance, which can really make you feel bad. Hope you get over that hump real soon.

Hoping the blog silence is an indication that you are resting well. Some bugs are bigger than they appear.

Read it? Aw, hell yeah, and saw the movie they made with Cliff Robertson (”Charly.”) People often remind me of the book - but very few say it with flowers.
